Toniniopsis mesoidea (Toninia mesoidea) Growth type crustose. BLS conservation evaluation: LC NS Chemical results negative. Epithecium green, hypothecium dark red-brown Scattered local distribution on +/- base-rich coastal rocks and serpentine but does not occur on limestone The thallus is rimose-cracked or of scattered areoles (never squamulose), brown, olive-brown or greenish-grey, without pruina or white flecks. Apothecia black, flat becoming slightly convex, margin becoming excluded. Spores are 3-septate, 14.5-17 x 5.5-6 µm. Micrograph below.
