Hyphomycete
Psammina simplex Lichenicolous and algicolous Specimen in Lecanora saligna confirmed by Peter Earland-Bennett Conidia with approx. 20-30 arms, overall diameter c17-57 µm, arms straight or only slightly curved. The arms are mostly 0-2 septate, 15-25 x 2-3.5 µm and not swollen between the septa or at the apices (which are sometimes slightly attenuated). Micrographs of conidia below. Similar: P. stipitata has slightly longer, curved and broader arms, rounded at the ends and 21-40 x 3-4 µm. P. filamentosa has larger conidia with much longer arms |
