Only recorded on Cladonia species in GB&I but in Europe and N. America it has been recorded from Parmelina, Ramalina and Squamarina. Specimen confirmed by Brian Coppins

Only known as an anamorph. Dark conidiomata either immersed in whitish necrotic areas of the thallus or partially erupt through it. Conidia hyaline, ellipsoid and biguttulate, (4-)4.7-6(-7) × (2.0-)2.4-3(-3.5)µm. It is an aggressive parasite, eventually killing the host. Micrograph below.

Similar: Didymocyrtis foliaceiphila is usually found on Cladonia squamules but also occurs on Parmelia and Punctelia spp.
